Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park

Woodland Conservation Work Days

• Coppicing
• Tree-felling
• Strimming of brambles and nettles, etc
• Litter picking and general tidying up
• Planting native species of trees and shrubs
• Clearing paths and viewing areas, leaf-blowing the main formal footpaths, platforms and boardwalks.

Dates for 2008 are 13th January, 10th February, 9th March, 13th April, 11 May and 8th June. We meet at the Visitors Centre at 10.30am and work until around 3pm.

If you have an hour or two to spare please come along. We are usually easy to find if you can't be there at the start. Tools will be provided but it is advisable for you to wear appropriate working clothes and to bring your own workboots and gloves.

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available!
