Board and Executive Director
The board of Directors are the Trustees of the charity and ultimately responsible for its good governance. They are all volunteers with a range of backgrounds and skills and delegate day to day authority to the Executive Director. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the trust, including developing an annual business plan, ensuring the overall viability of the organisation and working with our strategic partners at the highest levels. These include the leaders and chief executives of the local authorities, regional agencies and national government.
Finance Director
Groundwork's finances are extremely complex and highly regulated by the Charity Commission, Companies House, HM Revenue and Customs and a wide variety of funders. The latter have a range of reporting requirements, many of which are not financial. We are a charitable company and have to be financially sound and ensuring this requires professional financial expertise.
Operations Manager
Groundwork Kent & Medway's Operations Manager works closely with the operations team to develop and deliver a programme of projects and activities that fit within Groundwork Kent & Medway's aims and objectives. Other roles include liasing with prospective partners and funders to help secure future work, involvement in the recruitment and training of new staff and ensuring that all projects are kept to budget at every stage. The Operations Manager assists the Executive Director in the identification of new major regeneration projects in our operating area and in positioning the Trust to be ready to take on any work that may come from this.
Development Team
Groundwork Kent & Medway's Development team plays a lead role in developing and maintaining the Trust’s position in relevant local partnerships. The Development team works to secure significant multi-year funding for projects and programmes through partnership working and supporting and coordinating staff activity. Other roles include contributing advice and intelligence to the Management Team as they relate to the Trust’s programme areas and supporting the strategic development of the Trust ensuring that it contributes to the aims, objectives and targets of its stakeholders and partners. The Development team evaluates the effectiveness of the Trust’s partnerships and programmes in Kent and Medway against agreed criteria.
