Welcome to Groundwork Kent & Medway
Groundwork Kent & Medway is a unique and vibrant charitable organisation. Established in North Kent in 1990, it has gone from strength to strength, delivering over £20 million of environmental improvements.
Local communities are at the heart of our philosophy and by working in partnership we deliver successful and inspirational projects, from play areas to gardening clubs, skate parks to school activities.
Extending our area of work in April 2007 to the whole of Kent, and employing over 25 highly skilled, committed and enthusiastic staff, we believe we can offer a holistic and imaginative approach in addressing local needs.
Through our website you will find various case studies, the latest news and events and of course meet the teams who make these projects a success.
Reaching for Gold
Reaching for Gold is a new competition to encourage innovation and creativity in young people - essential skills for the industries that will lead us out of recession.
14-19 year olds across the South East are invited to put forward ideas that can make a practical difference to society. The themes for the competition are Youth, Community and Disability. Prizes for finalists include a camcorder and a laptop, and £5,000 will be allocated to the winning idea.

Team Green - Clean Ups and Green Services
Groundwork Kent & Medway is now offering a Deep Clean service, as well as grounds maintenance, planting and design and build projects. Rates are competitive, and working with us will help local long term unemployed people gain new skills and experience, as well as contributing to Groundwork charitable activities throughout Kent. Cozenton Wheel Park
In the past few month a series of very successful design workshops have taken place in Rainham where lots of young people have worked with Groundwork Kent & Medway’s landscape architects to help design new teenage play facilities on Cozenton Park.
Medway Council secured a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Children’s Play programme to be spent on providing young people in the area with facilities for skateboarding, BMX and in-line skating. It is hoped that work will be completed by May, 2010.
