Case Study - Dartford Skatepark
Dartford Skatepark

The design for the new skate facility in Central Park, with state-of-the-art features including skate bowl and plaza, was chosen following a vote by local skaters and BMXers. More than 200 responses were received with Gravity Engineering Ltd announced as the successful company for the skatepark design and build contract.
A preview event of the skatepark, held at the beginning of March, attracted more than 200 skaters, in-liners and BMXers who were eager to test out the new facility. Many of those who attended had been involved in the consultation process with Dartford Borough Council and Groundwork and have played an essential part in delivering the first rate skatepark which has been modified to meet their needs.
Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council says, “The skatepark has attracted the attention of hundreds of skaters since plans were announced. We’ve had interest from all over the south east, which just goes to show how in demand these facilities are.”
